Have you ever wondered what tourists look like from a lemur’s perspective?

To them, we might be a little strange.

We arrive with cameras, backpacks, hats and lots of curiosity. We stop to watch them, take photos and admire the incredible forests they call home.

But there’s something even more important than getting the perfect picture: respecting the animals we came to see.

Keeping a safe distance, staying quiet, following local guidelines and never feeding or touching wild lemurs are simple ways to make our visits safer for them and more meaningful for us.

Because Madagascar is their home long before it becomes our destination.

And when we travel with respect, we can leave with wonderful memories — without leaving a negative mark behind.

💚 Come for the lemurs. Leave as their friend.

9,000,000 trees planted in Madagascar.

On August 19, 2026, our partners at the Madagascar Biodiversity Partnership reached an incredible milestone: 9 million trees planted as part of their long-term commitment to forest restoration, biodiversity conservation, and community development.

For us, this number means much more than trees.

It means restored habitats.
More space for wildlife.
Healthier forests for lemurs and countless other species that depend on them.

To commemorate this milestone, an endemic tree species of Madagascar Letchis ala (Raloto), Tina apiculta was planted.

The Marat Karpeka Lemur Foundation is proud to be among the partners supporting these conservation and reforestation efforts.

Nine million trees are a powerful reminder of what long-term collaboration between local communities, scientists, conservation organizations, and supporters can achieve.

And this is not the finish line.

The forest keeps growing and so does our commitment to protecting Madagascar’s extraordinary wildlife.

🌿 More trees.
🌿 More habitat.

Have you ever heard a forest sing? 🎶🌿

The indri, Madagascar’s largest living lemur, is famous for its haunting, melodic calls that can travel over 2 kilometers through the rainforest.

These songs are more than beautiful—they help family groups stay connected, defend their territory, and communicate across the dense forest.

But as Madagascar’s forests disappear, so do the voices that have echoed through them for thousands of years.

Protecting the indri means protecting the forests they call home and preserving one of nature’s most extraordinary soundscapes.

Let’s make sure future generations will still be able to hear the songs of Madagascar.

💚 Every forest saved is another chance for the indri to sing.

What if we told you that lemurs help grow forests? 🌿

Lemurs are often called the gardeners of Madagascar’s forests—and for a good reason.

As they move through the rainforest in search of fruit, they carry and disperse seeds far from the parent trees. Those seeds can grow into the next generation of forest.

This natural process keeps forests healthy, supports thousands of plant and animal species, and helps restore areas that have been damaged.

When lemur populations decline, the entire ecosystem feels the impact.

Protecting lemurs isn’t just about saving one remarkable group of animals—it’s about protecting the forests, the wildlife that depends on them, and the future of Madagascar’s unique biodiversity.

Every lemur matters.
Every forest matters.
Every action matters. 💚

Lemurs are running out of time, but we can still change their future.

By restoring forests, we give them a chance to survive, grow, and stay in the wild where they belong. 🌱

Every tree planted is a step closer to bringing their home back.

If you care about the fate of lemurs and want to help, the link is in the profile 🙏
