Children At Heart is a 501(c)(3) non-profit adoption agency, founded in 1995.

We are approved in NY and licensed NC to facilitate domestic adoptions for all US citizens. We work with birthmothers in NC to help them find adoptive families for their babies.

Our next two birthmother support group meetings will be held on zoom on Tuesday, June 23rd, and Wednesday, July 22nd, from 7-8pm. For zoom meeting info, text 910.705.3343. These meetings are open to those who are considering adoption for their child, and those who have already placed a child with an adoptive family - regardless of when or which agency you worked with. It’s a wonderful, non-judgmental place to ask questions if you’re considering adoption, or come for the support you need and give support to others.

With increased need at this time, we have raised our goal yet again to $4,000. We are so close! ⭐️ We are collecting gift cards for Walmart this holiday season so that we can distribute them to birthmothers who need some help buying gifts and food for their for their children at home this holiday season. Please ship gift cards to our office (Children at Heart, 254 N. Front Street, Suite 200, Wilmington NC 28401). $25/$50/$100 gift cards work best but all amounts are accepted! Want to zelle a donation and we will get the gift card for you? No problem! Zelle to [email protected] and note that it’s for our Christmas Wish List. Checks are also accepted - see if you can get a corporate match from your employer, or encourage coworkers, family, and friends to donate also. It’s already that time of year! November is National Adoption Month and that means it’s time for us to kick off our Christmas Wish List for 2025! Once again this year we are asking for gift cards for Target and Walmart so that we can distribute them to birthmothers who need some help buying gifts for their little ones this holiday season. Many of our birthmothers have extra needs right now due to the increased cost of living and reduced support at this time, so we are hoping for this to be our most successful season of giving to date. Please ship gift cards to our office (Children at Heart, 254 N. Front Street, Suite 200, Wilmington NC 28401). $25/$50/$100 gift cards work best but all amounts are accepted!
