Delaware Coalition Against Domestic Violence We invite you to join us in these efforts.

DCADV is a statewide, 501c3 nonprofit organization and coalition of organizations, groups and individuals that strive to promote conditions that prevent and eliminate domestic violence. We work in partnership with direct service providers, government officials, and business and community partners to promote equality in relationships as we strive to alter the social conditions that allow violence and abuse to occur.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Everyone deserves to feel safe, supported and respected.

This year's theme, “With Survivors, Always,” reminds us that supporting survivors goes beyond raising awareness. It means listening, believing and helping people access the support they need.

For Delaware residents affected by domestic violence, help is available. The Delaware Department of Justice's Victims’ Compensation Assistance Program (VCAP) may help eligible victims of violent crime with expenses such as mental health counseling, medical care, temporary housing and relocation.

Domestic violence does not happen in a vacuum. For people who experience things like poverty, lack of access to safe and affordable housing, and other inequities, the impact of domestic violence can be even worse. When we come together as a community to address these risk factors, like ensuring that everyone has an affordable place to live, people will be less likely to experience domestic violence in the first place.
