📣 We're looking for Board Members — and we want YOU in our corner! 📣

Teach Zen Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit helping young children and their caregivers build the emotional tools they need to manage big feelings. Through our One Love, One Heart program, we bring trauma-informed, mindfulness-based social-emotional learning directly into childcare classrooms. This summer, we're expanding with our Summer of Feelings program for family child care providers. 🌱

Since 2023, here's what our community has helped us accomplish:

⭐ 10 early childhood centers served

⭐ 30 classrooms reached

⭐ 57+ teachers trained

⭐ 450+ children served

⭐ 100% of teachers adopted new self-regulation tools in their classrooms

⭐ 63% of teachers saw a decrease in children’s behavioral challenges

Now we’re ready to grow — and we’re building out our Board of Directors to help lead the way! 🙌

We’re looking for people who are passionate about education, children, and community, especially those with experience in:

🔸 Finance or fundraising

🔸 Nonprofit or community leadership

🔸 Law and justice

Know someone who would be a great fit? Tag them below! ⬇️

Or reach out directly — we’d love to connect!

Read about our Founders journey to receiving her degree while caring for young children in her family child care business. It's been a long road towards founding Teach Zen Inc, read about it in the current issue of Wilmington University's WilmU magazine!

When Kyma Fulgence couldn’t find the childcare she wanted for her daughter, she created it herself. From launching an in-home center to founding Teach Zen, a nonprofit supporting children’s resilience and educator wellness, her journey reflects purpose and heart. With her degree in early childhood education, she proves that when passion meets education, transformation follows. Read more ➡️ https://bit.ly/3LIywiO

✨ Back-to-School Season is Here ✨
As educators, we enter our classrooms each fall with a mix of excitement and anticipation — but also with quiet worries about student behaviors, classroom fatigue, and our own ability to stay grounded.
What if this year could feel different? 💡
What if we started by centering social-emotional learning (SEL) as the foundation for everything else?
In my latest Compassionate Classroom newsletter, I share:
🌞 Why the first moments of the day matter more than the first lesson
📓 How simple check-ins (even journals for little ones) normalize emotions
🌬️ The power of modeling calm before guiding behavior
🤝 Why shared causes build empathy and reduce power struggles
🌿 How shaping the environment is more effective than controlling children
