⛳ Beyond the Golf Course: Opportunities That Shape Our Future Leaders 🌟

Through First Tee’s national opportunities, young people from First Tee – Greater Wilmington connect with peers from across the country, learn from inspiring mentors, and challenge themselves in new ways. These experiences often take them far from home, sometimes traveling independently for the first time.

From leadership development to team-building experiences, participants learn to step outside their comfort zones, discover new strengths, and see what’s possible for their futures.

By learning to lead, embrace challenges, and believe in themselves, our participants are building a foundation for success in college, careers, and beyond.

At First Tee – Greater Wilmington, we believe the lessons learned through golf can open doors far beyond the game, and we’re proud to see our participants putting those lessons into action.

⛳️ A lifetime of impact. Character is the lesson. Golf is the vehicle. 💚

At First Tee – Greater Wilmington, we use the game of golf to help young people build confidence, strengthen character and develop the life skills they need to grow into leaders, scholars and game changers.

From learning to navigate challenges and set goals to exploring opportunities beyond the course, our programs help kids ages 5–17 discover their potential and see what’s possible for their future.

With 6 programming locations, 20+ community partners and opportunities to grow on a national stage, we’re creating experiences that stay with young people long after they leave the course.

Want to be part of the impact? You can volunteer, join our Ambassadors Council, host an event at The Loop or make a gift to help more local kids access these opportunities. 💚

⭐️ Big things ahead for Dean! ⭐️

This November, Dean Richards will represent First Tee – Greater Wilmington at the First Tee Innovators Forum in Amelia Island, Florida! 💚⛳️

The Innovators Forum challenges First Tee teens from across the country to take their passion for helping others and turn it into action. During the five-day experience, Dean will work with fellow participants and industry leaders to develop a community service project focused on making a meaningful difference back home.

For Dean, service is nothing new. As a Boy Scout and a participant currently pursuing First Tee’s ACE designation, he continues to challenge himself to grow as a leader, set meaningful goals, and find ways to give back to others.

Throughout the Forum, Dean will build on those experiences through hands-on workshops focused on collaboration, problem-solving, communication, and learning how to take an idea and turn it into real change.

The Forum takes place November 15-19 in Amelia Island, FL.

We’re excited to see Dean take on this opportunity, represent our chapter, and bring everything he learns back to Wilmington.

Congratulations, Dean! We’re proud of you and can’t wait to see what you create! 💚💡⛳️

Participants will take part in interactive workshops with industry leaders, build connections with their peers, and enjoy some time on the golf course!
