Five14 Revolution We are !

Five14 Revolution is a ministry based in Southeastern North Carolina, preventing human trafficking and sexual exploitation by bringing God's hope, healing, and freedom to women in places of vulnerability.

Most trafficking doesn’t start the way people think.

It can begin with:
• online gaming
• social media messages
• fake job opportunities
• financial dependence
• an older “boyfriend”
• promises of love, safety, or stability

Traffickers often use trust, manipulation, vulnerability, and emotional control — not just force.

Awareness matters because understanding the warning signs can help protect vulnerable people before exploitation happens.

At Five14 Revolution, we are committed to prevention, education, survivor advocacy, and restoration.

Share this to help more people recognize the signs.

Follow for awareness, prevention education, and ways to make a difference.

Five years ago today, our Executive Director and Director of Coordinated Care had this conversation…Five years later, we just moved out of our rental safe house and into Five14’s first permanent safe house.

“And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus. To our God and Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen.”

-Philippians 4:19-20

One of the hardest truths about human trafficking is that it often does not begin with a stranger.

Many survivors are trafficked by someone they know and trust — a friend, family member, romantic partner, caregiver, or someone who first offered love, safety, support, or stability. Traffickers frequently use emotional connection, manipulation, dependence, and coercion to gain control.

Right now, we are walking alongside someone in a heartbreaking situation that is a painful reminder of this reality.

Trafficking can happen in any community, to people of any age, background, or income level. Sometimes the greatest danger comes from the very people someone believed they could trust most. This is one of the many reasons why survivors need communities that respond with compassion instead of judgment.

A safe house resident recently shared that she found a book and would sit on the swing outside the safe house reading it over and over again. She had memorized part of it:

“And even though you are tired, you are keeping on. And even though it may not feel this way to you, it means you are strong.”

For survivors of human trafficking, healing is not simple or linear. Sometimes strength looks like getting out of bed. Sometimes it looks like showing up to counseling, asking for help, or simply choosing to keep going one more day.

We are continually reminded that safe housing is more than a place to sleep — it’s a place where healing begins, where moments of comfort matter, and where hope can slowly return. A place where quiet strength can flourish.

To every survivor: we see your strength, even on the days you may not feel it yourself. 💛

Thank you to everyone who attended, supported, donated, sponsored, volunteered, and helped make the Five14 Revolution Fundraiser Luncheon such a meaningful event.
From powerful stories shared by our team to the generosity shown through our silent auction and donations, we were reminded once again that this community truly cares about creating safety, restoration, and hope.

Every conversation, every bid, every sponsorship, and every donation helps move this mission forward.
We are deeply grateful to our sponsors, local business partners, volunteers, and every guest who chose to stand with us.

This work is only possible because of people like you.
More moments and stories from the luncheon coming soon.

New data from the U.S. Department of Justice highlights an important shift: more human trafficking cases are being identified, referred, and prosecuted.

But this does not mean human trafficking is decreasing. It means more cases are being seen.

The reality is that these numbers only reflect what is reported and processed through the justice system. Many victims are still never identified, and many perpetrators are never charged.

So while this data may point to growing awareness and action, it also reminds us how much work remains with millions still stuck in slavery.

We share this with hope—that increased awareness leads to continued action, stronger systems, and ultimately, more lives reached.
