PFLAG of Wilmington, NC

PFLAG of Wilmington, NC PFLAG Wilmington is about family. It is about standing strong for our le***an, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning children and friends.

PFLAG was founded in 1972 with the simple act of a mother publicly supporting her gay son, PFLAG is the nation's largest family and ally organization. Uniting people who are le***an, gay, bisexual, transgender, and q***r (LGBTQ) with families, friends, and allies, PFLAG is committed to advancing equality through its mission of support, education, and advocacy. Our Vision: PFLAG envisions a world w

here diversity is celebrated and all people are respected, valued, and affirmed inclusive of their sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression. Our Mission: By meeting people where they are and collaborating with others, PFLAG realizes its vision through:

Support for families, allies and people who are LGBTQ;
Education for ourselves and others about the unique issues and challenges facing people who are LGBTQ;
Advocacy in our communities to change attitudes and create policies and laws that achieve full equality for people who are LGBTQ.

Today we honor our founder Jeanne Manford, who passed away on this date in 2013. PFLAG's founding in 1973 was rooted in her love for her son, activism, and calls for justice for the LGBTQ+ community.

Advocacy and meaningful action for our LGBTQ+ loved ones is the foundational work of PFLAG National. And we will never stop fighting.
