We're excited to announce the appointment of Paul Leiner as the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra's Principal Cellist!

Since joining the WSO two years ago, Paul has been a valued member of the orchestra, as well as a Wilmington Symphony Youth Orchestras Chamber Ensemble Coach, and we are thrilled to see him step into this leadership role.

Big news for the Wilmington Symphony Youth Orchestra! 🎉

Please join us in welcoming Roy Robuck as our new Youth Orchestra Conductor!

For more than 40 years, Roy has been part of the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra family and has dedicated his career to inspiring young musicians in our community. We can't wait to see the impact he'll make as he leads the Wilmington Symphony Youth Orchestra into its next chapter.

We also extend our heartfelt thanks to Linda Estep for her outstanding leadership over the past three seasons. Her dedication and commitment have provided exceptional musical experiences for young musicians, and we are deeply grateful for the lasting impact she has made on our Youth Orchestra.

Academy Award-winning composer John Williams is giving the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra a notable endorsement ahead of its performance of one of his most beloved film scores.

We are saddened by the loss of former Wilmington Symphony Orchestra musician, Dr. John Rack. John served as the WSO's Principal Timpanist for many years until his retirement in 2021.

In addition to his exceptional musicianship, John was a skilled carpenter. His craftsmanship lives on in our percussion section through the bell case and the xylophone frame that he built for the orchestra. His talent, generosity, and dedication to the WSO will be remembered for years to come.

Our hearts go out to John's family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
