For July’s theme of Competition, our speaker will be local filmmaker, Bo Webb, a creative and constantly busy force of nature who has made a name for himself in the highly competitive world of filmmaking.
🎥🎥🎥 Get to know Bo! 🎬🎬🎬
Bo Webb started making movies with his high school friends on a VHS camcorder.
He moved to Wilmington, NC in the early 90s to begin a career in the film industry in the camera department.
At the same time, he met other like-minded independent filmmakers in Wilmington and formed Twinkle Doon, a group that made short films, commercials, and started the Cucalorus Film Festival, now in its 32nd year.
As a camera operator and DP (Director of Photography), Bo has worked on shows like Veep, Outer Banks, Tusk, The Runarounds, Piranha 3DD, and Eastbound & Down.
He’s also directed a feature film called Dead Heist, music videos for Kygo, Marlowe, L’Orange and Bustello, shorts like UN-DEAD, Fidelity, and Crackers, and episodes of The Inspectors for CBS Saturday Morning.
