Time to Get in the Fight Judges 7:3-8
It doesn’t matter how big the dog is, what matters is the fight in the dog. Many people in leadership are always asking for more people and money. We need to examine the Gideon’s leadership and what God taught him.
Gideon felt inadequate, insecure, and his plan showed he lacked value in himself. Many of us can relate to him. Gideon with all of his hang ups and issues, still had a heart for God. When we have so many issues holding us back in our minds; God needs to send us a message. God may send a prophet (maybe even someone without the gift) to reveal, that what is in you must manifest. What will you do when you hear what God’s wants you to do?
The course of Gideon’s life changed with a word. It can be the same for you. Once a word goes into your heart, it affects everything when you apply faith and grace through love on it. It will bring out the fight in you.
Gideon has thirty two thousand men, but they all did not have the word in them. Sone of the were the wayside people that didn’t have any root in themselves. God told Gideon to send them home. Not everyone is willing to go down the dark alley of life. They can “talk the talk” but they can’t “walk the walk” of the Warrior that puts their total trust in the Lord. So twenty-two thousand men go home.
God told Gideon that he still had too many soldiers to go war. God told Gideon to take them down to the water and watch the how each soldier drank water to determine who should be sent them home next.
The ones that go down and put their face in the water send home. The ones that put water in their hand send home. The ones the put their face in the water and saw the reflection of themselves send home. Many people in leadership will see themselves doing, and saying things, so they can get the credit or reward for their labor.
But the ones that put the water in their hand and licked the water like a dog had a different mindset. They were focused on the assignment. They were determined to free the nation of Israel from bo***ge. They had a fight in them that couldn’t be stopped. Excuse my expression it is the dog in them. The fight in them is a determination that only results in victory in the end.
Will you be the one with the fight for only victory within you?
Lord, I position myself to stay focused on the assignment and victory is my only option. My trust is in You and I am the one with the fight in me.
Lord it is not my bark that the devil fears but it is my mouth connected to my heart, that he must fear. My mouth releases the abundance that decrees a thing, so it can be established. My mouth has the power of death and life in it. My lips have praise on them for You. It is my bite and I won’t let go. It is victory that is worth the fight.
