Congratulations to Seaford High School’s Vince Evans, recipient of the 2025-26 Delaware High School Male Athlete of the Year Award, presented by the Delaware Sports Museum & Hall of Fame and the Delaware Sportswriters & Broadcasters Association! 🏆

Vince was honored at the DSMHOF's 50th Anniversary Induction Banquet on May 28 at the Chase Center on Riverfront Wilmington. A standout three-sport athlete, he was named Delaware’s Offensive Player of the Year in football after rushing for 1,105 yards and 18 touchdowns while adding 962 passing yards and 9 touchdowns. He also earned All-State honors in basketball, averaging 20 points per game, and will continue his baseball career at Presbyterian College this fall.

Congratulations, Vince, on this well-deserved honor and an outstanding high school career! 👏🏿

What a night!

Thank you to everyone who joined us on May 28 at the Chase Center for our 50th Anniversary Induction Banquet. With nearly 400 attendees, it was a memorable evening celebrating the accomplishments, dedication, and lasting impact of our newest inductees.

🏆 Congratulations to the Delaware Sports Museum & Hall of Fame Class of 2026! 🏆

One week ago, on May 28, at the Chase Center on Riverfront Wilmington, we celebrated an extraordinary group of athletes and coaches whose achievements extended from Delaware to the national and international stage. This year's class included an NFL player, an Olympian, a coach who helped develop world-class swimmers, including Katie Ledecky, and athletes whose accomplishments include NCAA tournament appearances and international competition at the highest levels.

Bob Cale, one of Middletown's greatest athletes, has died.
4-year starting defensive back at North Carolina. Twice led the Tar Heels in interceptions. Led ACC in picks in 1976. Twice was the ACC Defensive Player of the Week.
At Middletown, he pitched and batted cleanup for the 1974 Flight B baseball champions, was leading scorer on the basketball team, and was named first-team All-State football in 1975, when he was quarterback, defensive end and kick returner for the Flight B champion Cavaliers. During his college years, he played center field for Canada Dry in the Delaware Semi-Pro League.

From player to powerhouse coach, Debbie Windett has spent 50 years shaping Delaware athletics! From leading teams at Sussex Central and Caesar Rodney to helping Cape Henlopen capture 11 state field hockey titles alongside her daughter, Kate Austin, Debbie has had an impact on generations of student-athletes. 💛

✨ Fun Fact: At Bridgewater College, Debbie earned 11 varsity letters and captained its 1976 small-college championship team and the first undefeated lacrosse team.🏆
