I want to take a moment to thank my sweet friends Gretchen Roberts and Jennifer Ford for inviting me to come and share about “Courage in New Seasons” on their Find a Moment Podcast…

AND to highlight full circle God moment!

Monday morning we had the sweetest time catching up together. We talked about the courage and faith it took to write Journey To Heal, seasons of healing and growth ever since, the importance of shining the light of Christ on the prevalence and impact of sexual abuse and the need for intentional and trauma informed care within the body of Christ.

What makes this moment extraordinary to me is how God wove these two beautiful women into Journey to Heal’s story ten years ago.

💛 I met Gretchen through our shared homeschooling community in 2015, during the season of final edits of JTH. She had experience serving on book launch teams for other authors and graciously offered to help me launch Journey to Heal!

💛 I met Jennifer shortly after Journey to Heal was launched in 2016, when I was planning a women’s retreat for survivors at WB. Jennifer served on the worship team at Port City Church at that time, and still does today. After learning the heart behind this retreat through a mutual friend, she graciously agreed to lead worship for us.

And here we are today, a decade later, reveling in all God’s handiwork ever since. 🙌

Join Journey to Heal Ministries on Saturday, November 14, 2026, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Pine Valley Country Club in Wilmington, NC, for a special event to celebrate a decade of healing through Journey to Heal! Hear inspiring stories of impact and invest in the next chapter of God’s healing work and the women we serve.

✨Pine Valley Country Club in Wilmington

✨Tickets are $100/person and include a signature beverage upon arrival, a celebration drink ticket, horderves, live music, a special silent auction, dinner, dessert, and VIP access to our program and all the evenings festivities! (A portion of each ticket is tax deductable.)

What can an eight-week Journey to Heal peer recovery group offer?

Journey to Heal is a guided, Christ-centered and Biblially based program for adult women healing from past sexual abuse. It brings together education, peer support, and community, with online and in-person options.

This month, as several of our volunteer mentor team are walking women through Journey to Heal, either in a small group or 1:1, we're reminded of 2 Corinthians 1:4. It says,

"He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.” (NIV)

Because of their care and efforts, and supporters like you, the women we’re currently serving do not have to heal alone.

One of our mentors in GA who works for Sound Choices Pregnancy Center shared she just finished the last session of Journey to Heal with one of her clients. She said,

"God has completely transformed her and He has been working in her husband’s life as well. Ladies, this might be the most meaningful thing I’ve ever done in my life!!! Watching God work from week to week in her life through this study has been miraculous!”

Words truly can’t express the joy of knowing we’ve all played a small part in this woman’s healing journey - and most importantly her journey of faith.

Healing can begin when we no longer have to carry the pain alone. 💛

A participant in our mentor training shared: “I have carried so much pain for years. By working through my anger, the wounded parts of my soul are receiving healing and restoration.”

Her words remind us that healing takes courage, care, and time. There is no right pace, and you deserve support that honors your story. Through Journey to Heal’s Christ-centered, trauma-informed program, women can find guided support, peer community, and one-to-one mentoring.
