Attendance Works offers a three-part e-training for educators on evidence-based, tiered strategies to boost attendance and engagement using a team approach.

Classes meet every 2 weeks, 1.5 hours per session, for a total of three classes.
Participants will learn to:
· implement strategies that create a positive school climate encouraging attendance and participation
· support students who need extra help
· mobilize school staff and community partners

Join as an individual or a school/district team. Sessions include peer interaction and Attendance Works breakout rooms. Still time to register!

Group 1: Tuesdays (Sept 8, Sept 22, Oct 6)
Group 2: Thursdays (Sept 10, Sept 24, Oct …)

Cost: $300 per person for the series. Eligible for Title I and Title 2A funds. (Eventbrite charges a $15.99 processing fee per ticket.)

Walmart knows that when local communities thrive, our business thrives right alongside them, which is why our local grants program is dedicated to supporting organizations addressing the specific neighborhoods where we operate. These grants foster community pride, strengthen ties with customers and members, and empower Walmart U.S. stores, Sam's Clubs, and Distribution Centers to award local cash grants ranging from $250 to $5,000 annually.

Eligible local organizations can apply to support community needs within their facility's service area by setting up an account and completing verification through Walmart's third-party partner, Deed, via the Walmart Spark Good Nonprofits Portal. Organizations are allowed a maximum of 25 pending or approved applications at any time, though reapplication to the same facility is restricted within the same fiscal year.

For FY27, applications are evaluated across three distinct cycles: Cycle 1 (Feb. 1 – April 15), Cycle 2 (May 1 – July 15), and Cycle 3 (Aug. 1 – Nov. 30). Final decisions are finalized before the next cycle opens, and approved recipients receive electronic funding via JP Morgan, provided banking details are submitted within 21 days of notification. Calling all student changemakers! The Karma for Cara Foundation offers microgrants ranging from $250 to $1,000 for U.S.-based community service projects led by youth ages 18 and under.

Projects must involve collaborative youth action and go beyond simply buying and donating items. Please note that grants cover the core "nuts and bolts" of a project and do not fund stipends, facility rentals, transportation, gift cards, or prize money. Groups should designate up to three student leaders as primary points of contact.

Submit your proposals through the Karma for Cara Microgrant Application Portal. Applications are accepted year-round and reviewed quarterly following the strict deadlines of January 1st, April 1st, July 1st, and October 1st at 11:59 PM EST.

Calling all afterschool programs serving high schoolers!

The AI Innovation Challenge from Next Opportunity Fund and the Panasonic Foundation gives high school youth in afterschool and other out-of-school-time programs the opportunity to explore real-world problems, use AI responsibly to develop innovative solutions, and compete for up to $5,000 for their program.

No prior AI experience or coding skills are required. Sign up today to participate, receive a facilitation guide to help young people create their projects, and submit by 11:59PM EST Nov. 19, 2026.

The Youth as Solutions program is a guided service-learning initiative that empowers middle and high school students to tackle challenges in their communities, design impactful solutions, and lead projects addressing education, community health, the environment, and civics & democracy.

Each team includes at least two youth leaders and one adult mentor who collaborate to engage the community, amplify youth voices, and create lasting change. From September 2026 to May 2027, selected teams will take part in a year-long experience with leadership training, personalized coaching, service-learning resources, and opportunities to connect with peers nationwide.

New this year, 25 teams will receive $1,000 MLK Day Grants from NYLC and YSA to support service-learning projects for the MLK Day of Service on January 18, 2027. Applications for these grants are due by August 28 through the Youth as Solutions application. https://buff.ly/iwrhzve
