DHSS “cooling centers” for those who need relief from the heat are open starting today, June 30, through Thursday, July 2, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. These spaces offer a safe, air-conditioned environment where anyone can cool down and stay hydrated.

In addition to cooling space, the following resources will be available:
* Bottled water and light refreshments, including granola bars and fruit snacks
* Cooling towels
* Hand sanitizer and napkins
* Face masks for adults and children
* Phone charging stations and charging cords (as available)
* Coloring books, crayons, colored pencils, and pencils
* Children's books and reading materials for toddlers and young children
Additional Support Services
* Staff will be available to provide information, conduct assessments for additional services, and make referrals to community resources as needed.
* Cooling stations are not intended to provide medical or health screenings but can help connect residents with appropriate services
