As fall sports start up again, it's important to remember that not only are you more than the pressure and feelings you have on the court, but also that it's okay to talk about those feelings. You don't have to have it together 100% of the time, and the more you express the way you are feeling, the easier the conversation becomes with the people around you.

Meet our new Teen Programs Manager, Emily Riale!

Emily started with Sean's House in 2023 as a Peer24 Support Specialist and became the Sean's Room Coordinator in 2024! Since her first day as a Peer, Emily has had the ability to make any person in the room feel seen and heard. She brings a contagious energy every where she goes, and always manages to make people smile and laugh, even on their hardest days.

As the Sean's Room Coordinator, Emily has gone above and beyond to make each Sean's Room fit the community that it serves and make it a safe space for all. She also created and expanded the SL24 Teams Program, helped build out the Gather and Grow Summit, and created an intern program for SL24 Teams and Sean's Rooms.

In her new role as the Teen Programs Manager, Emily will continue to grow our programs that impact all middle school and high school students, helping spread our mission even further across Delaware.

Meet the new Director of Operations for SL24, Angela Pugliese!

Ang has been with SL24 since 2023, working as the Director of Sean's House, and since the beginning she has shown incredible initiative and dedication, often taking on tasks beyond her job description in service to our mission. It is in recognition of all of her hard work that she is being promoted to Director of Operations for SL24: UnLocke the Light Foundation!

Today, we celebrate Sean’s birthday. We lost Sean a few weeks before his 24th birthday. 24, a number that shows up again and again in the heart of our work at SL24, Sean's House, Sean’s House Sussex, Sean’s Rooms, and once on the back of Sean’s jersey.

While we no longer get to watch Sean blow out the candles, his legacy lives in every safe space created, every student supported, and every conversation that says, “You are not alone.”

Birthdays like today are complicated for many. If you’ve lost someone, you know how milestones carry both love and longing. Today, we’re holding space for anyone feeling that mix and sending light to all who are remembering someone they love.
