We are deeply grateful for all of Delaware’s Rotary Clubs and their steadfast commitment to strengthening communities across the First State. Today, we’re shining a special spotlight on two incredible clubs that are helping connect people with the outdoors in unique and impactful ways:

💚 Caesar Rodney Rotary Club recently made a generous donation to Delaware Greenways, supporting our work to advocate for connected trails, pathways, and scenic corridors across the First State.

🥾 The Rotary Club of Lewes-Rehoboth Beach is inspiring exploration through the 2026 edition of Great Walks & Trails of Sussex County, encouraging residents and visitors alike to discover the incredible trails southern Delaware has to offer.

Together, these partnerships help more people experience the benefits of spending time outdoors while strengthening the communities we all call home.
Thank you to all of Delaware's Rotarians—and especially these two standout clubs—for helping build a healthier, more connected state!

• Doing light trail maintenance
• Identifying safety concerns
• Helping keep trails accessible for everyone

500 miles of Summer Adventure

In 1989, Delaware had only a limited network of dedicated trails. Today, that network has grown into more than 500 miles of bicycle and pedestrian friendly trails—and Delaware Greenways has helped make that progress possible every step of the way. With your support, we can continue building on this legacy by improving trail access, adding clear signage, and welcoming benches, and advocating for safer, better- connected pathways across the state.

🏛️ Battery Park Trail
Follow the Battery Park Trail into the heart of Historic New Castle, where cobblestone streets, colonial architecture, and the New Castle Court House offer a glimpse into Delaware's earliest days.

🌊 Gordons Pond Trail
Ride or walk to the Fort Miles Historical Area in Cape Henlopen State Park, where a former World War II military base preserves an important chapter in America's coastal defense history.

🚴 Jack A. Markell Trail
Just 1.5 miles from the trailhead, you'll find Tubman-Garrett Riverfront Park, home to a monument honoring Harriet Tubman and Thomas Garrett and their courageous work on the Underground Railroad.

📖 Every trail has a story—and these three are among Delaware's most historic hidden gems.

🌳 Bob Trail
The Bob Trail winds through Trap Pond State park, Delaware's first state park (est. 1951).A landscape originally developed by the Civilian Conservation Corps and showcases the state's unique cypress wetlands and natural heritage.

🌊 Fox Point Riverview Trail
Thanks to decades of environmental advocacy that started in the 50s, the former industrial shoreline at Fox Point was restored into a scenic park and trail that connects people with Delaware's waterfront.

🌿 Brandywine Trail
Following the historic Brandywine Creek, this trail travels through a landscape that helped power Delaware's early mills and industries, connecting visitors to centuries of history that shaped the Brandywine Valley.
