🎉 Congratulations to our Board Treasurer, Emily, on being named one of the Delaware Business Times’ 40 Under 40!

A construction finance professional, devoted mom, hiking enthusiast, and advocate for the next generation of tradespeople, Emily brings so much to Delaware Greenways.

As Treasurer, Emily shares her financial expertise and steady leadership to support our mission. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring Delaware’s trails with her family and surf fishing at Delaware Seashore State Park. She also founded her company’s summer Trade Camp experience in Pennsylvania and Delaware to encourage young people to explore careers in the trades.

We’re especially grateful for the coffee that first brought Emily to Greenways and for everything she has contributed to our board since. Executive Director Mary Roth shared:

“From day one, your financial knowledge, steady leadership, and willingness to jump in wherever needed have made such a meaningful difference. You’ve been a true gift to the board, and this 40 Under 40 honor could not be more deserved.”

📢 Help shape the future of the Foulkstone Pathway!

DelDOT is hosting a public workshop to discuss design alternatives for improving connections between Foulk Road and Saddler Lane. The project aims to improve regional bicycle and pedestrian connectivity with a new shared-use pathway, safer crossings, and a connection to Talley Day Park. 🚶🚲

A project identified in the US202 Master Plan. As a stakeholder of that project, Delaware Greenways encourages community members to take advantage of this opportunity to learn more about the project and share their ideas and feedback on the pathway's design, access, fencing, and amenities.

Share your feedback on the Georgetown-Lewes Rail Trail to Milton Connector! DelDOT is partnering with local government and community partners in Sussex County to study the alignment for a walking and biking pathway to connect Milton to the Georgetown-Lewes Rail Trail. The study will consider different routes and design alternatives to construct a shared-use pathway. Take the survey to help shape this connection!

The Delaware Department of Transportation has unveiled a survey seeking feedback on a proposed pathway that would connect Milton to the Georgetown-to-Lewes Trail. The survey is part of a study for the alignment of the trail connection. The study will consider different routes and design alternatives. Out in the field with a purpose! 🌲 The Delaware Greenways team recently joined the biannual Recreational Trail Advisory Committee meeting at Lums Pond State Park for a firsthand look at what’s next for Delaware’s trail network.

DNREC and Delaware State Parks representatives shared updates on park improvement projects across the state that benefit trail users. The group also toured the park to see the Swamp Jersey Trail’s updated bridge and the progress on 14 new cabins being added to the campground. 🥾⛺✨

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!!! 💚 🏃 Help support the Delaware Distance Classic 5K & 15K along the Wilmington Riverfront and Markell Trail on Sunday, October 18th. You'll be hanging out with a great crowd, supporting race participants at the registration table or water stops. Bring a friend!
