This FREE family event focuses on Hurricane Preparedness & Mental Wellness — with free resources, giveaways (first 150 families!), and outdoor family games for all ages! 🧡

📚 LET’S TALK ABOUT YOUR CHILD’S IEP! 💙💚

Does your child have an IEP? Do you sometimes leave an IEP meeting with more questions than answers?

Join us for “Let’s Talk! About YOUR Child’s IEP” on Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 3:00–8:00 PM at the Hilton Garden Inn in Jacksonville.

This workshop is designed to help parents:

✨ Understand what makes a strong, effective IEP
✨ Review the key sections of your child’s IEP
✨ Identify questions and concerns
✨ Connect with community agencies and resources
✨ Leave with a plan for next steps

Parents, educators, and related professionals are welcome!

📝 IMPORTANT: Parents MUST bring a copy of their child’s IEP to get the most from this workshop.

🍽️ Light dinner will be served, followed by a formal presentation and small-group discussion with ECAC and Family Support Network staff.

You don't have to stay for the entire event—join us when you can and stay as long as you'd like!

💙 We are deeply honored that the family of Teresa Ann Thomas has chosen Family Support Network of Southeastern North Carolina as a way to honor her memory.

Terri spent much of her life advocating for children with special needs — helping families navigate special education, and speaking up for children who needed a voice. Her fierce sense of justice and empathy for others reflects the very heart of our mission.

We are grateful to the Thomas family for entrusting us with Terri's legacy, and we send our deepest condolences to her husband Ted, her sons Jake and Michael, and all who loved her.
