Last Friday, May 29, 2026 ICHDE broke ground on Lafayette Place, a 36+ unit affordable homeownership community in Milford, Delaware. We were honored to celebrate this milestone alongside U.S. Senator Chris C***s, U.S. Senator Lisa Blunt Rochester, Governor Matt Meyer, City of Milford, De Mayor F. Todd Culotta, and NeighborWorks America President & CEO Marietta Rodriguez. Lafayette Place will give Kent County working families new affordable homeownership opportunities. Thank you to all of our partners and supporters who brought us to this day. What a way to kick off NeighborWorks Weeks!

Last week, we broke ground on Lafayette Place in Milford — 36 to 95 new affordable homes for families in Delaware's fastest-growing city.

This project has been years in the making. It took $2.5 million in Congressional funding secured through Senators C***s and Blunt Rochester, partners across the state and nation, and a team that never stopped believing in the vision.

We were honored to celebrate alongside Governor Matt Meyer, both U.S. Senators, Milford's Mayor Todd Culotta, and NeighborWorks America President & CEO Marietta Rodriguez — all gathered around a plan that, as our Resource Development Director Catherine Davis put it, has been "opened so many times."

As Gov. Meyer said of the families who will one day live here: "To those 96 families, it means just about everything."
