At the heart of the Rider legacy are our incredible alumni—making an impact in their communities, excelling in their professions and continuing to lift up the University in meaningful ways. Each year, we’re proud to recognize their achievements through the Rider University Alumni Awards.

Jason Thompson ’08, this year’s Distinguished Alumnus Award recipient, is one of the most decorated players in Rider men’s basketball history and the first Rider player ever selected in the first round of the NBA Draft. He went on to a 14-year professional career, including eight seasons in the NBA, primarily with the Sacramento Kings. Since then, Thompson has remained committed to the game and his community through coaching and philanthropic efforts.

This past Saturday at Chase Fieldhouse was an amazing experience from start to finish 🙌🏽🏀

We kicked things off with a powerful pre-game wellness workshop—huge shoutout to Crystal for sharing such meaningful insight on behalf of the Foundation. Definitely set the tone for the rest of the day 💯

After that, we had a great time connecting with everyone during the concourse activation—appreciate everyone who stopped by, showed love, and took the time to engage with us!

And of course, we wrapped it all up with a great game between the Capital City Go-Go and the Blue Coats 🔥 The energy in the building was on point!

Grateful for everyone who came out and helped make the day special. Looking forward to more events like this in the future!

🏀 LLJT FAMILY NIGHT OUT!

Our JT Elite Camp family and Jason Thompson Foundation community are invited to come out and support Coach JT as the Capital City Go-Go take on the Delaware Blue Coats!

Jason has poured so much into the next generation through camp and the foundation, and now it’s our turn to show up and support him on the sidelines.

This will be a special night for our community — the Jason Thompson Foundation will also have an activation on the concourse, so make sure to stop by and say hello!

Bring your campers, families, and friends and let’s fill the arena with JT supporters for a fun night of basketball.
