We provide transformational programs that positively impact low-to-moderate income communities.

Neighborhood House is a non-profit, social service agency with locations in Wilmington and Middletown (Delaware). Founded by the United Methodist Women's Home Missionary Society in 1927, the agency provides care and support for low-to-moderate income residents living in New Castle County. Operating on a foundation of Christian principles, Neighborhood House pursues two primary purposes: To assist and guide people in finding their own paths of self-awareness, self-sufficiency, and success; and to provide leadership, support, and advocacy for a comprehensive approach to community and economic development. Better housing, family unity, education, counseling, recreation, neighborhood development, and racial and cultural understanding, as well as spiritual and emotional enrichment, are important aspects of the programs and services we offer.

Since 1927, Neighborhood House has served individuals and families in Southbridge and the surrounding communities. As we approach our 100th anniversary, our Board is committed to strategic, relationship-based fundraising that can sustain and grow the programs and services we offer.

Working alongside our Executive Director and the Board’s Development Committee, the Director of Development will create our first comprehensive annual development plan and grow a portfolio of individual, corporate, and foundation donors.

We’re looking for someone with five or more years of nonprofit fundraising experience, including personal solicitation of major gifts, who is energized by building a culture of philanthropy at an organization Wilmington families have relied on for generations.
