Some trips are measured in miles. Some in tags filled. Sometimes its just about looking like Rambo but your in the bushes against flying 10 inch tall birds.

And sometimes the best measure is simply whether somebody went home looking forward to doing it again.

Getting outside, learning something new and sharing the experience with good people. That’s a pretty solid day in our book.

Whats the best view you've seen on a hunting or fishing trip? (Pics or it didn't happen 🤣)

Not every meaningful moment happens in the woods.

Sometimes it’s the conversations before the trip, after the trip, or sitting around with people who understand where you’ve been without needing the entire backstory.

The outdoors may bring us together, but the community is what keeps us connected.

There’s a lot of waiting involved in hunting.

A lot of cold. A lot of staring at mountains. A lot of wondering if that tiny dark spot moved or if you’ve officially lost your mind. 😂

But slowing everything down and focusing on what’s directly in front of you is part of why we come out here in the first place.

The hunt gets people there.

This is why we stay.

Standing around a fire after a long day, telling stories, laughing at each other and spending time around people who understand things you don’t always have to explain.

You can call it ecotherapy. Most of the time, it just feels like being around your people.

Veterans and First Responders could be late to their own event and somehow still stop to help somebody else along the way. 😂

Doesn’t really matter where we are or what we’re supposed to be doing. If somebody needs a hand, you stop and give them one.

We did eventually make it to the event.

The Reason Outdoors has always been bigger than the people who go on the trips.

Our families pitch in too. Whether it’s helping at events, passing out information, talking about what we do or simply giving their time, they’ve become part of growing this mission right alongside us.

We couldn’t do it without them. 🧡

There are partnerships, and then there are partnerships where your coworker has four legs, considerably better hearing and absolutely no interest in office politics. 🐕‍🦺

We’re proud to support the First Responder community and the men, women and K9s who show up every day to serve their communities.

A little friendly rivalry for a much bigger reason. 🏒

Raleigh Police and Raleigh Fire hit the ice and the community showed up to support them, all while helping raise money for The Reason Outdoors.

Events like this allow us to keep putting Veterans and First Responders outdoors, building community and creating experiences with the people who understand them best.

Thank you to everyone who played, attended, donated and helped make it happen!
