The North Carolina Jazz Festival, Inc.

We are a non-profit organization manned solely by volunteers. Our 10 member board of directors work year round to bring to Wilmington some of the most talented and respected jazz artists in the world. We also have a group of dedicated volunteers who work during the festival to make it all run smoothly! The North Carolina Jazz Festival (NCJF) is one of the country’s oldest, continuously running jazz festivals. It was started in 1980 as a birthday celebration for its’ founder and has continued to grow ever since. Our Jazz education program brings these talented world class musicians to local schools, to present this music that is truly America’s Cultural Heritage. Through concert/workshops we introduce JAZZ, sometimes for the first time,to those who will become the musicians and audiences of tomorrow.
