🦋Palma Sola Botanical Park was established thanks to a grassroots initiative in 1990 to create a botanical park. The local citizens sought to save the 10-acre site that had served as the Manatee County Nursery. The Park officially opened to the public in 1993 and continues to grow and evolve into a cherished spot in Bradenton, Florida.

SummerHome Garden in Denver, Colorado, was founded by Lisa Negri, whose interest in native plants was sparked by an article in The New York Times about Philadelphia pocket parks. To deepen her knowledge, she volunteered at Denver Botanic Gardens.

SummerHome Garden has since grown into an urban public garden featuring xeric and drought-adapted plants. It serves as a place where visitors can enjoy the scenery while learning how to incorporate similar plants into their own backyard gardens.
