Last week, we attended a screening of "Coexistence, My Ass!", a documentary highlighting an Israeli comedian and activist, Noam Schuster-Eliassi. The film displayed her efforts to call out inequality and hatred against Palestinians while using both humor and protests to work towards peace. We laughed, we cried. Thanks to Jengo's Playhouse in downtown Wilmington for hosting us, and shoutout to the ILM Ceasefire Choir who sang before the screening.

The Political Education Committee of the ILM DSA is hosting our first event of the new year on Saturday, January 31: a documentary screening of the new Abby Martin film, “Earth’s Greatest Enemy,” along with a live Q&A with the director.

The film explores the role of the U.S. military as the world’s largest institutional polluter, tracing the link between war, empire, and ecological destruction. Drawing on powerful testimonies from veterans, scientists, and frontline communities, it uncovers how military operations poison ecosystems, accelerate global warming, and sacrifice the future for endless expansion.

ILM Palestine Coalition will be hosting a social with food at 12:30pm and the film starts at 2pm. Get your tickets now at the link in our bio for just $12! https://jengos.eventive.org/films/695c0a08e7b44a1eaf5dfc7c

Some more photos from October 5, 2025. Wilmington area residents showed up to speak out against a shipment of 162 tons of munitions passing through Wilmington on the way to Ashdod Port in Israel. Not on our dime, not through our port!!! Free Palestine.

Last Sunday, October 5, 60+ Wilmingtonians showed up downtown for Palestine. Video by . Organizers got a 16-hour advance notice that a ship carrying 162 tons of munitions was stopping in Wilmington, headed from New Jersey to Ashdod Port in Israel. So a call was put out and Wilmington answered - not on our dime, not through our port! Thanks to those who showed up to hold signs, chant and sing, and peacefully protest American support of Israeli aggression. Free Palestine. Steve Lee

Come out to the City Council meeting tomorrow night at 6:30pm to keep applying pressure to City Council to vote NO on the proposed ordinance criminalizing homelessness! They are re-voting on this ordinance tomorrow night. Last meeting, we had a majority of the room there to show that we don’t want our unhoused neighbors being criminalized, and that pressure pushed the city council to amend the ordinance to be (slightly) less harsh. We only need two more no’s for the ordinance to not go through. Local activists have been talking with city council members to try to convince them to change their votes. Let’s show up and show them that the citizens of Wilmington do NOT want our unhoused neighbors to be punished, fined, and criminalized simply for existing in public spaces!

Hello beautiful humans,

We’ve been quiet, but not silent.

Like many of you, nearly two years into an ongoing genocide with no clear end in sight, we’ve been moving through a range of emotions: exhaustion, guilt, numbness, grief, anger. These feelings are deeply human and they’re valid. Experiencing them doesn’t mean we’ve forgotten or given up. It means we are human, and part of our responsibility is to care for ourselves so we can continue to care for others.

While we haven’t been as active on social media these past couple of months, we’ve been present and engaged. On Tax Day, we took our demands directly to City Council, urging our representatives to stand with their constituents. We’ve met with council members to continue pushing for the changes we’ve been fighting for over the last two years.

We’ve also been grieving—overwhelmed, like so many of you. And we’ve been channeling those feelings into strengthening our coalition and finding new ways to show up for Palestine and for our community.

Thank you for sticking with us. Thank you for your patience and grace.

We’ve made some promising changes we believe will help us do more, do better, and move forward with renewed purpose.

Stay with us. Grow with us.
