What does the path to homeownership actually look like? For Atiah, it started with her knock and shock.

That was the day our team surprised her with the news that she'd been accepted into our Homeownership Program. Months later, she stood at the door of her home at Sankofa Place on New Castle Avenue, one of five net-zero ready homes dedicated there this spring.

The part that does not always make the photos came in between: hundreds of hours of sweat equity, financial readiness work, and a 0% interest mortgage she qualified for and will pay back. Habitat's model is a partnership, and Atiah carried her share of it from start to finish. Congratulations, Atiah. We're so proud of you. 💚
