Hello Friends of Brandywine Springs!!
The June meeting is coming up Sunday June 14 at 7 PM at the Greenbank Mill, 500 Greenbank Road. Parking is behind the mill or in the adjacent parking lot on Greenbank Road next to the railroad tracks. Please join us in this new location.
Our next meetings for 2026 are: June14, July 12, August 9, September 20, October 11, November 8, December 6.
Trail construction is underway at the park. It will be handicap accessible and feature a lake loop trail with bridge over the spillway dam and connect to a trail along the boardwalk amusement sites. Her are a couple of views of trail sections as of June 5, 2026

The Friends of Brandywine Springs will greet the visitors at Marshall Steam Museum on their upcoming event: Train Day at Auburn Heights on Sunday May 3, from 12:30-4:30. We will be sharing the history of the Brandywine Springs Park and sharing information about the Walking Trail Improvement Project that will be under construction very soon. Please join us for this fun filled afternoon!

The April meeting of the Friends of Brandywine Springs is this coming Sunday April 12 at 7PM. Our monthly meetings will take place in a new location starting with our April meeting. We will meet at the Green Bank Mill in the hall of the historic grist mill, 500 Greenbank Road, Wilmington DE. Parking is behind the mill or in the adjacent parking lot on Greenbank Road next to the railroad tracks. We will be reviewing the reports from the County Parks Department regarding the upcoming construction start up of the Walking Trail Improvement Project. We hope you have a chance to enjoy some of the recent Spring time weather in the park. Lots of spring flowers are in bloom. Spring is here on the island in Lake Washington as a pair of Canada Geese tend a nest in the Forsythia blooms. (look closely in the center of the photo to find mother goose sitting on the nest in the yellow blooms near the edge of the island)

The first 2026 meeting of the Friends of Brandywine Springs is this coming Sunday March 8 at 7PM in the Cedars Methodist Church meeting room-- Harrison Street side back door entrance. All are welcome to attend--bring a neighbor or friend! We are looking forward to the new year and movement forward on the construction of the Walking Trail Improvement plan coming this year. Winter is turning into the spring as these snow drops along the hillside trails offer a treat for those who venture out into the park in the early spring season.

The December meeting of the Friends of Brandywine Springs is this coming Sunday December 7 at 7PM in the Cedars Methodist Church meeting room-- Harrison Street side back door entrance. All are welcome to attend--bring a neighbor or friend! Come hear about the Walking Trail Improvement project updates. This is the last meeting for 2025 and we will be having election of officers and board of directors for 2026. Our holiday party follows the business meeting. We are on winter break for monthly meetings and are scheduled for March 8 2026 for resuming the monthly meetings. We are looking forward to the new year and movement forward on the construction of the Walking Trail Improvement plan in the coming year. Be sure to stroll the park in the winter season--the scenery is grand then too.

"Let All Who Enter Here Leave Care Behind" appeared on the original entrance archway at the park. Come for a walk in the park. Here's a series of photos that I took today while walking in the park. Fall is an especially great time to visit and leave care behind.

We are working to increase the public awareness of our group and inform the public about the park's history. We will be discussing plans for our participation in another public event-- time and location to be determined.
