Lights Out! Wilmington

Lights Out! Wilmington Help Save Migratory Birds and Reduce Energy Costs - One Building At A Time! Founded by the Delmarva Ornithological Society, the objective of Lights Out!

Wilmington is to educate large building owners, managers, and tenants of the conservation of migratory birds by reducing building strike mortality through extinguishing exterior and interior perimeter lighting on tall buildings during Spring and Fall bird migration windows (Spring - March 17 to June 7, Fall - August 20 to October 25). As an indirect result of extinguishing these lights, participat

ing buildings would realize cost-saving benefits, energy-saving benefits, and contribute to greenhouse gas reduction. Additional public outreach will garner support for the program and provide public recognition for participating buildings.
