Cape Fear Housing Coalition Our mission is to lead the regional effort ensuring that all residents have safe, affordable homes by protecting and expanding housing options for them.

Our mission is to strengthen the Cape Fear Region by increasing access to affordable, safe, healthy housing. Objectives:
1. Envision the housing opportunities necessary to strengthen our community and improve the quality of life for all citizens.
2. Advocate on behalf of low and moderate-income individuals and other marginalized groups; influence public opinion and public policy.
3. Educate the private and public sectors about fair housing rights and affordable housing needs, issues and best practices.
4. Bring together housing professionals and other stakeholders to understand the community’s concerns and priorities and to execute collaborative plans of action.

Last week, we had the opportunity to join a roundtable hosted by City of Wilmington, NC Tree Commission to discuss how updates to City codes could meaningfully improve our local tree canopy while also supporting efforts to reduce costs for homeowners, renters, and the businesses who provide housing and housing-related services in our community.

We were honored to be a part of the discussion and to advocate for policies that promote housing affordability, strategic density, and regulatory reform that works for all stakeholders.
