Cullen Shiplett keeping his side of the street clean at the mighty and one and only, Skate Barn

Fun Fact: The “Mini Bowl” originated down in Carolina Beach in the late ‘80’s hosted at the long gone (but never forgotten) Ramp House. Today it lives on nearly in its original form at The Skate Barn and continues to serve skaters daily. Skateboarding history still in action.

NC Legend Alert 🚨🚨🚨

Big ups to Chad Shooter for sending this slapped out feeble down the block for our lens during our latest trek inland with Good News Skate Night ILM for the Acts 2 Skate Crew July meet up.

For a full recap video of the trip, peep Topsail Skate Club for an incredible 3 minute documentary of van life at its finest.

Legends never die… they keeping adding lure and crafting their personal narrative.

Donald Williams personifies this testament in all things but specifically on the humble patch of sand that hosts our ally Skate Barn.

Thank you for all you’ve done for skateboarding and continue to do Donald! NC Dirts and The Skate Barn Forever!

The running joke in the van during the drive inland was that we had a dream street spot lined up. The OG plan had us hitting two parks for multiple hours each…

This plan would normally totally torch every leg present so it was humorous to believe we would find the spot let alone be able to actually skate it.

We are here to tell you that dreams can be manifested. One “wrong turn” brought the Good News Skate Night ILM crew directly to the banks we first saw in 2018.

Moral of the story: load up the van. Imagine your dreams. Go Skate!!!

Yesterday we loaded up the infamous Skate Barn van and trekked 2 miles inland for the monthly Acts 2 Skate Crew meet up.

We were blessed with dry concrete and endless fellowship as we navigated I-40 to and from our scheduled stops.

Skateboarding afforded all of us the blessing of putting 4 wheels down on some amazing terrain as well as the chance to share the love of Christ that we have received with all who would listen in The Oak City.

Can’t wait to run this trip back soon!
