🎒 Back-to-school season is here! 📚✏️

LYTE families, stop by our Back-to-School Backpack Giveaway on Thursday, August 20 from 5:30–7:00 PM! We’ll have 200 backpacks available, filled with notebooks, pencils, and other school supplies to help our students start the year ready to go. 💙💛

Last month, our annual Middle School Career Day gave LYTE middle school scholars the opportunity to hear directly from professionals across a variety of industries. Through engaging conversations and hands-on workshops, students explored different career paths, learned what those jobs are really like, and discovered the steps it takes to achieve their goals. Every conversation sparked new ideas, inspired future aspirations, and reminded our scholars that their possibilities are endless. 💙✨

Our middle school scholars recently showcased their career-focused projects through creative poster boards and presentations, sharing the goals, passions, and future careers they’re working toward. From healthcare and engineering to business, education, and beyond, each presentation reflected the curiosity, creativity, and ambition of our students.

We’re proud to celebrate their hard work and the confidence they’ve built as they continue exploring the possibilities for their futures. The journey starts with a dream and these scholars are already taking the first steps. 💙

The 14th Cohort of LYTE is officially underway! 🎉

Our rising 8th and 9th grade scholars are spending their summer at Thomas Edison Charter School, building a strong foundation for future success. Through engaging summer programming, students are strengthening their math and ELA skills, exploring a variety of career pathways, and setting meaningful goals as they prepare for high school.

We are excited to watch this cohort grow, learn, and discover new possibilities throughout the summer. 💙📚✨

Part 2: Medicine 🩺✨

From law to tech, our students explored it all this spring!

Another group of LYTE students took on the medical side of Georgetown University, gaining hands-on exposure to careers in healthcare and science. Students had the opportunity to work in labs, explore medical spaces, and learn more about what it takes to pursue a future in medicine.

Experiences like these help our students see that their goals are within reach and their futures are full of possibilities. 💙

Part 1: Law ⚖️✨

From law to tech, our students explored it all this spring!

We took our highschoolers to Georgetown University Law Center, where LYTE students got a firsthand look into the world of law through immersive experiences and conversations about future careers in the legal field. From exploring incredible facilities to stepping into the role of future legal professionals, students were able to envision what their own paths could look like.

First day of law school? They might already be ready. 👏🏽📚

LYTE Scholars had the opportunity to experience a powerful “Discovery Day” focused on careers in business and technology. High school students heard directly from Googlers and University of Delaware alumni about their personal journeys, the growing impact of AI in the business world, and valuable advice for navigating the transition from high school to college and beyond. Opportunities like these help our students expand their vision for what is possible and prepare for the future with confidence! 🚀

At University of Delaware Charm and the IceCube Physics Lab, students dove into hands-on STEM learning through interactive workshops 🧪✨
Using natural materials, they even created their own body butter recipes, blending science, creativity, and real-world application all in one experience! Moments like this show how fun and engaging STEM can be when students get to learn by doing 💡

Such a great day with our LYTE scholars! 💙 Touring Haverford College and Widener University on our college tour gave our students the chance to explore, ask questions, and start picturing what their futures can look like ✨
