Widener School of Law is the Official Wills for Heroes State Affiliate for Delaware

Volunteer attorneys, notaries, paralegals, and students prepare necessary estate planning documents for (active, retired, sworn, civilian) members of the police, ems / paramedic, fire, parole, probation, corrections, and other law enforcement communities and their spouses / partners FREE of charge.

On Saturday October 7, 2017 the faculty, staff and students of the Delaware Law School of Widener University drafted basic estate planning documents for the heroes of Troop 3 and their families. Thank you to all of the volunteer attorneys, paralegals, notaries and of course The Delaware Law School family! "Protecting Those Who Protect Us!"

Another great and successful Wills for Heroes Delaware event is behind us! Today, the team of attorney, paralegal and law student volunteers drafted estate documents for 81 of Wilmington Fire Department's bravest! Wills for Heroes Delaware is proud to dedicate this event to three WFD's fallen heroes : Here are the names: fallen wilmington firefighter: Capt. Christopher Leach, Lt. Jerry Fickes, and Lt. Ardyth "Arty" Hope. Their last alarm was 9/24/16 where an arson fire resulted in a floor and wall collapse. A moment of silence was also observes for DOC officer, Lt. Stephen Floyd who died in the line of duty this week during a prison riot / standoff in Smyrna. The Wills for Heroes Delaware chapter is run by the Widener University Delaware Law School.

80 of Delawares bravest and finest were served by the Delaware chapter of Wills for Heroes today at the Aetna Hook Hose and Ladder Company in Newark Delaware ! Thank you to the Delaware Wills for Heroes team from Delaware Law School of Widener University - The students, staff, faculty and administration thank all of Delaware's heroes for their selfless service to our community! Thank you to all of our attorney and paralegal volunteers who put feet to our mission "Protecting those who protect us".

Appointments for our February 20, 2016 event to be held at the Delaware Law School have opened. Any first-responder who is interested please e-mail us at [email protected]. Appointment times are 11:30am, 1:00pm, 2:30pm, and 4:00pm and are given on a first-come, first-served basis. We look forward to serving our Delaware Heroes!

We wish to thank the valiant Troopers of the First State for hosting the 2015 Fall Wills for Heroes event. The event was held at the Delaware State Troopers Association building in Dover Delaware. Nearly 30 of Delaware's first responders were served by our team of dedicated attorney, faculty, paralegal and student volunteers. Thank you again and job well done.
