We are sad to announce that Kelly and Nathan are moving and have to step down from their positions on the CFSDS board. Anyone who has met these two can feel the love and dedication they have poured into this scene. Without their leadership, CFSDS wouldn't be what it is today! The hard work these two have put in will always be felt in our community.
Kelly and Nathan, thank you for everything you have done. You'll always have a place in our hearts and on our dance floor. ❤

This months class series is: Everyone Leads, Everyone Follows!

We'll dive into partner dancing by learning both roles simultaneously. You will learn the perspective of both the lead and follow, giving you a deeper understanding of the connection in the partnership.
If you're new to dancing, this is a great place to jump in because you'll get to try both roles, and see which feels the best for you! For more experienced dancers, this is a great way to deepen your understanding of connection and to work on switch dancing!

No partner or experience needed.

- This is a 3-part progressive series, so we strongly encourage beginners to start with the first class of the series so you don't miss out on the fundamentals.
- Our classes are one hour of instruction followed by one hour of social dancing time to practice what you've learned and engage with the community!
- We recommend wearing comfortable clothes to move around in, and smooth-soled shoes.

Five Thursdays mean an extra swing dance class this month. For our bonus Thursday class this month we are doing a Steals Workshop

Steals often happen during jam circles or specific dances but can be a lot of fun to do with friends on the dance floor. A steal is when you jump in and replace a dance partner. This class will discuss stealing politely, safely, and in lots of fun different ways. Ideally you do not want to lose the flow of the dance and have to stop and start over, the goal is to jump in seamlessly and have the dance continue.
The class is $10, cash or venmo at the door
Beginner friendly, no partner needed, come as you are!

There are two workshops for Balboa
*Balboa is a close embrace dance to fast music 🎶

1PM-3PM is a beginners balboa class, designed for new dancers and those that want to brush up on their basics and get more dancing time in. No partner needed, no experience needed, very beginner friendly
4PM-6PM is a beyond the basics balboa class, requirements for this class are knowing how to do the basic footwork and connection for balboa. No partner needed

Each class is $20 individually but if you want to brush up on your basics and sign up for both it will only be $30 total if you do both workshops

We rotate partners in our classes so you can learn how to social dance and feel confident coming to our classes solo
Located at Hannah Block USO on the corner of 2nd and Orange.

We suggest clothes that are comfortable to exercise in and if you can wear shoes that are not too grippy on the floor that will make any spins and movement easier! There is a beginner lesson included in the cost of the social that starts at 6:30, we welcome everyone to come and learn how to dance so you can enjoy the music and open dancing at 7:30

This is a 3 part Lindy Hop swing dance class on Thursdays, an hour of class and an hour of social dancing afterward. Note that our Thursday classes are a progressive series, if you are a beginner dancer you will have to make it to the first class (the first Thursday of each month) or you will miss important information and be behind in class.
This series teaches how to do the quintessential swing dance move- the swingout! Whether you are learning it for the first time or finessing it for a smoother dance and better connection this class is for you.
No partner needed, beginner friendly- beginners please make sure to make it to the first class of the series to learn the basic footwork
Located downstairs in the Historic USO building in downtown Wilmington, at Orange and 2nd St
