Thanks to the Cape Fear Garden Club, Inc. for supporting our native planting efforts at Haven Place! Our goal is to create not only a beautiful entrance to the neighborhood, but also a functional environment for these plants and local wildlife. Keep an eye out for the berm the next time you're on Castle Hayne Road!

Not every baby bird needs rescuing 🐦 I always check a few things first:
🐣 If it has feathers and looks alert, it may just be learning to fly.
🌳 Fledglings often spend time on the ground while the parents stay nearby.
👀 I watch from a distance before touching anything.
🐾 Keeping pets away is usually the biggest help.
🧤 If it’s injured, bare, cold, or in danger, that’s when I’d look for proper wildlife help.
Most of the time, giving them space is the kindest thing to do.
