Built in 1866 by commission merchant James C. Smith, this Greek Revival home is known for its symmetrical design & abundant natural light. Purchased in 1890 by Danielle L. Gore, founder of one of the South's largest wholesale grocers. Current owners added a new kitchen & first-floor master suite, updating the home while preserving the treasured historic charm.

This is just ONE of 8 historic homes you'll tour - through the back door - on Saturday, October 10, 2026, 10am–4pm. Presented by Residents of Old Wilmington, proceeds support historic preservation and local nonprofits.

Meet the Sutton House, 323 S. 4th St.
A Greek Revival home built in 1850 for merchant and distiller William Sutton. Heiress Sarah "Sally" Burgwin purchased it in 1881, and it stayed in the family for 58 years. The kitchen incorporates the original outdoor kitchen's brick fireplace, with an island and shelving crafted from reclaimed attic wood - plus a landscape design you won't want to miss.

Meet The Honnet House - an Italianate landmark in downtown Wilmington's historic district, built in 1881–82 by Baltimore jeweler and watchmaker George Honnet. After a two-year restoration, this stately home shines with original columns, five fireplaces, inlaid oak and mahogany floors, a grand staircase, and 14-foot ceilings. Home to only six families in its history, it just earned a 2026 Historic Wilmington Foundation Restoration Award.

🎭 The Summer of ROW is officially in full swing, and this one's a showstopper!

We're thrilled to present ROW's Dinner and a Show, a brand-new community event series that brings us together for great food and world-class theater right here in Wilmington.

We've got two incredible shows lined up at the historic Thalian Hall:

🎶 West Side Story — Friday, August 21
🕖 Both shows at 7:30 p.m.
Here's how it works: we'll gather for dinner together before each show (location TBD based on headcount - another great reason to RSVP early!), then head over to Thalian Hall for an unforgettable night of Broadway-caliber theater.

Eight stunning historic homes in downtown Wilmington. Italianate, Victorian, Queen Anne, Georgian; each one a story waiting to be told. And you get to walk right through the back door.

This is the tour that history lovers and architecture lovers wait for all year. Come explore the kitchens, the craftsmanship, and the southern charm that makes this neighborhood like nowhere else.
