Join us on Friday, January 30th from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM to protest the ongoing brutality of federal immigration agents and honor the lives of those victimized by ICE and CBP. We encourage you to bring signs that memorialize victims, shame ICE, and support immigrants in the Cape Fear region.
The main staging area of the protest will be on 17th St. at Novant Hospital, in solidarity with the National Nurses Union’s week of action after the murder of Minneapolis nurse Alex Pretti.
There will be an optional march from the hospital to the local Customs and Border Protection office at 721 Medical Center Dr. The route is approximately one mile. (Please Note: The marching route is not fully accessible for those using mobility aids.)
Those arriving to the protest after 5:00 PM are welcome to join the group at the hospital or go directly to the CBP office.
Peace Monitors, street medics, and legal observers will be in attendance.
Co-sponsored by Brunswick Indivisible, ILM Action Network, ILM Democratic Socialists of America, Immigrant Allies Forum, Indivisible Actions SENC, Indivisible Wilmington, the lowercase leaders, Make NC Work, National Black Leadership Caucus, Siembra NC, and Women Organizing for Wilmington.
*A core principle behind all ICE Out For Good events is a commitment to nonviolent action and no civil disobedience. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values, and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events. All events should be held in public spaces or on public property.
