Meet Kambua Chema Photography, a Chicago-based photographer, educator, and creative entrepreneur. She participated in YWCA Metropolitan Chicago's Breedlove Entrepreneurship Program that helped her fully step into her role as CEO and as a Black woman business owner. She continues to use photography as a joyful tool for representation, empowerment, storytelling, and connection.

💜 Volunteer Opportunity: Sexual Assault Helpline Advocates (Statewide) 💜

Make a powerful difference—right from home. YWCA Delaware Sexual Assault Response Center (SARC) is seeking compassionate volunteers to serve as Sexual Assault Helpline Advocates supporting survivors across Delaware.

🕰 Ongoing | Choose your own on-call shifts:
• 12:00 AM – 6:00 AM
• 6:00 AM – 12:00 PM
• 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM
• 6:00 PM – 12:00 AM
(No minimum number of shifts required)

📞 What this role looks like:
• Respond to helpline calls routed to your personal phone
• Provide calm, compassionate crisis support
• Conduct safety, su***de risk, and lethality assessments when appropriate
• Connect survivors to SARC and community resources
• Volunteer remotely from a quiet, private space

🎓 Training & Requirements:
• Application and interview required
• No prior experience needed
• Completion of initial training and advanced workshops required
• Communication with on-call Supervisor during shifts
• Timely and accurate documentation
• Delaware state background check required

• Virtual opportunity
• Not family friendly
• Not outdoors
• Not wheelchair accessible
• Must have a private, secure computer with Wi-Fi and a secure phone
