We seek to close the achievement and opportunity gaps for first generation, college-bound young women by focusing on college preparedness, enrollment and graduation for all of our students. About SPARK Academy: Spark Academy is a state-of-the-art school for all children ages 6-weeks to five. Our innovative mixed-income model is focused on the elements of high quality early childhood education that lead to kindergarten readiness and the latest research in how young children learn and thrive. A community health care clinic will also be on site, and a community farmers market will frequently be offered on weekends. Our innovative school for children ages 6 weeks to five will feature the highest quality environment and curriculum for all children, using a mixed-income model to ensure that children have an experience that prepares them to thrive in kindergarten and the larger community. Spark Academy will offer reimagined early care and learning to a diverse population of children and families who seek an experience that will provide a strong foundation for success in future education and beyond.

This summer, students from Girls Leadership Academy of Wilmington Classes of 2026, 2027, and 2028 spent nine unforgettable days discovering the beauty, culture, and adventure of Costa Rica. From hiking to La Fortuna Waterfall and kayaking on Lake Arenal to zip-lining through the rainforest, exploring the Santa Elena Cloud Forest, visiting local farms, and experiencing Costa Rican traditions firsthand, each day offered a new opportunity to learn and grow.

Needless to say, they made the most of every minute. Take a look at a few highlights from their journey!

What a week at the 2026 GLOW Academy Summer Leadership Camp! 💜🔥

From hands-on activities and creative projects to new friendships and leadership experiences, it was an incredible week of learning, growth, and fun. We loved welcoming rising 5th through 8th grade students to campus and hope they left feeling inspired, confident, and excited for what's ahead. Thank you to all of our campers and families for spending part of your summer with us. We can't wait to see all that these future leaders accomplish!

Lastly, a special shoutout to our amazing GLOW teachers, staff, transportation team, and the current students and alumni who brought so much energy and encouragement to camp each day!
