The Warming Shelter ILM

The REAL Homeless Herald street newspaper exists to share stories and foster compassion about homelessness in our city, but the real story is what it does for our writers who have found purpose, meaning and great satisfaction in their participation. The value and need for our community to listen to the voices with lived experience has the power to inform our work and our responses.

New Hanover County's housing crisis is affecting people struggling to find a home and those trying to keep one. Faith and community leaders gathered in Wilmington Tuesday to connect residents with resources and discuss ways to expand affordable housing.

How does The Warming Shelter play a role in the larger conversation of homelessness and housing? We'll be part of the discussion at the Faith & Housing Crisis Summit hosted by One Christian Network. Katrina Knight and Laura Bullock will be speaking about housing solutions in our city, along with persons with the lived experience of homelessness.

Additionally, The REAL Homeless Herald of ILM, NC will be there!
