(over due post) Troop 1029, BSA Troop 29 Delaware, & BSA Cub Scout Pack 29 had a chilly, but fun Jamboree weekend!! Scouts had a full day of doing all the different activities planned for the event. Some even won prizes for participating at the different stations. It was chilly & windy, but the rain held out till the evening. Closing ceremony was held under the octagon pavilion with lots of skits, songs, and karaoke!!! In the morning, once the trailer got towed to the road, we were ready to head home!!!

Dinner will take place at the Red Clay Creek Presbyterian Church (500 McKennans Church Rd.) The funds will help our scouts earn funds towards scout activities. Celebrated Scout Sunday at Red Clay Creek Presbyterian Church with BSA Troop 29 Delaware, & BSA Cub Scout Pack 29 today. Our scouts participated in the service as both readers & ushers.

It was a cold weekend but we got through it. T1029 had a joint snow tubing camp out with BSA Troop 29 Delaware in WV. Saturday, we went to the Appalachian Trail Conservancy and learned about some of the history of the trail from one of the hikers nicknamed“Pop-tart”. He told us how he got his name (funny story) & various points of the long trail, plus news worthy hikers that have hiked either the whole or various sections of the trail! Afterwards, we took a short hike from the conservancy to the Bollman Bride then back. After lunch, we headed to Snow Riders for some tubing. Everyone had a blast, including adults that tubbed also. Back at camp, after dinner, the boys shared some funny skits & songs. They also conducted a flag retirement ceremony. Finally, according to the weather, looks like we got 2-frost bite nights! We ended our weekend with chapel plus roses, buds, & thorns at DnD Sunday morning!
