(HOND INC) would like to invite you to participate in its’ 39th Annual Fair Housing Observance & Awards Luncheon being held from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Friday, June 30, 2023 at the Doubletree by Hilton Downtown Wilmington Hotel, located at 8th and King Streets Wilmington, DE 19801. This year’s theme is “A New View at Fair Housing Law: Creating Wealth for the Future”. Tickets are available @ $60.00. Please register at www.hond.org. HOND’s Board of Directors, staff and Partners are working to make a difference in Fair Housing in Delaware. Our presentations are centered on ways to fulfill the promises and opportunities to find decent and affordable housing. We are featuring discussions about “Opportunities to become homeowners, Tenant/ Landlord Rights and Responsibilities” according DE Fair Housing Law. This Year HOND, INC is recognizing Hon. Darius Brown, Senator, State of Delaware will be receiving Andrew Turner Award, his extensive work at the HOPE Commission working with the released ex-offenders as they transitioned into our community seeking housing and other support. ; Dionna Sargent, will be receiving the Leon N. Weiner Award. CINNAIRE, a non-profit assisting housing developers to create more affordable housing in City of Wilmington.; the creation of the Jumpstart Wilmington , which provides education and Mentors for contractors who are providing more affordable units in the City. CINNAIRE has been instrumental in assisting families during hurricane Katrina with the flooding on Claymont Street in Wilmington, Delaware to find affordable housing; HOND’s mission is to promote fair and equal access to housing for all Delawareans. Now more than ever, HOND’s advocacy role is crucial for those families who face discrimination in their homeownership rental choice.
