A big THANK YOU!! to everyone that has paid the annual $25 dues, to everyone that has paid more than the $25, and to those that paid a second time due to the snow emergency!

As of March 1, we are now up to 57% of the neighborhood having paid the dues and we are still short to pay for the last snow plow bill. We need to drive that as close to 100% participation as we can! Thankfully we have an AWESOME snow plow company that is working with us while we raise the required funds.

Residents can check the list of addresses that have paid in the private Facebook group for residents only. In addition to checking for your address on the list to make sure your dues payment is included, please also look for the addresses of your friends, family, and neighbors on the list. If they have not paid yet, please check with them to see if they received the newsletter.

If not, they can print a copy from here and submit it or I will be happy to take them another newsletter if the wind took theirs away from their front door. (Just send a private message with the address.) Please remind them that this is the only source of funding we have to pay for snow removal and other entrance maintenance fees.

We are planning to print a 2nd notice to deliver to the remaining 43% of the houses, but that will cost in both time and $$$ to print. Hopefully this post will help remind those that haven't yet contributed so that we can minimize that effort.

Thank you for your help in supporting the neighborhood we all call home!

*Snow Update* The snow has started and thankfully it looks like we are in the 11-17" range instead of the 18+" range. It still going to be a significant amount of heavy wet snow. Our snow plow company is working with us as we continue to raise money for this storm, more to come on how great that company is in separate posts. For now, though, now is the time to start moving as many cars of the street as possible. To push heavy wet snow with a snow plow, they have to be moving pretty quickly in their truck. If there is a car on the street, they have to start moving away from the curb at least 1-2 houses early to ensure they will miss hitting the car and not get back to the curb until 1-2 hours later. So, 1 car on the street could mean less plowing in front of at about 4 houses. Also, please DO NOT use the snow blower to blow snow into the street. Please turn the chute so it blows into your yard. If you do not know how to turn the chute, please look for a video on YouTube. This is going to be heavy, wet snow. The kind of snow that causes heart attacks. If you are going to shovel, get out there early and often. As the snow plow clears the street, it will push the snow to the end. This will leave some snow at the end of your driveway as it passes. To minimize this snow, you can shovel the street to the left of your driveway when you are standing in your driveway looking at the street. If you can shovel the street about 10 feet to the left of your driveway and about 3-6 feet out into the street, you will have very little if any snow at the end of your driveway when the plow comes through. BONUS! If your mailbox is on that side of your driveway, it will be much easier to keep that clear if you are keeping up with the shoveling. Use this post to ask for help shoveling if you are in need of help. People with kids that want to make a little money shoveling can also use this post to get the message out. Stay safe!

**SNOW EMERGENCY**
As of now, the forecast for snow on Sunday into Monday is significantly higher than originally forecasted. There is a chance that we may get 8-17" of snow. We need your help to raise more money for snow removal for this storm. As of now, we will not be able to pay to plow the neighborhood adequately. More details are shared in the private group "DMW Residents Only" for people that live in the neighborhood. In short, though, only 38% of the neighborhood has paid the annual dues so far and we need to get that as close to 100% as quickly as possible. If we are not able to raise enough money, the snow should melt Wednesday through Thursday, but you will need to be prepared for the difficult/dangerous conditions that could exist Sunday through Wednesday.

A big thank you to all of the neighbors that have paid the Dartmouth Woods Civic Association annual dues already! It continues to be just $25/year and we need everyone to contribute since this is our only way to pay for snow removal and maintenance at the entrances. The list of addresses for everyone that has paid so far has been posted in the private group for residents only. If you see an address of a neighbor that is missing, please check in with them to see if they need another copy of the newsletter and let them know how important their participation is each year. If you have any questions, please ask here or send a private message. Thank you!

***Neighborhood Newsletter!*** Here’s an electronic copy for everyone to get a look at the information about the annual dues, volunteer opportunities, and information for a neighborhood virtual meeting on Feb. 10. Paper copies have started to be delivered to everyone’s house and will hopefully all arrive in your front door this week. Should be this next weekend at the latest. Thank you in advance for paying the dues, it is the only source of income we have to pay for the snow plowing and entrance maintenance.

***SNOW!!!*** ( #3 of the season!) I’m seeing forecasts of anywhere between 8-18ā€ between Saturday and Monday morning at 8am. If it is closer to 18ā€, the plows will make multiple passes. One during the storm and a final pass when it is over. There could be ice after the snow so we’ll make the call for salt based on how the storm goes. Salt costs almost as much as plowing so it is important for everyone to pay the dues. If possible, please move as many cars off the street as you can. The more that are off the street, the more the street can be plowed. The newsletter has been printed and will be delivered in the coming days and posted online. We hope to keep the annual dues the same again this year, but if we get a lot of snow this season (as predicted) we will talk through the options during a virtual meeting on Feb. 10 at 7pm. Meeting join details will be posted with the newsletter. Stay safe and enjoy the snow if you get a chance to play!

***SNOW!!!*** Looks like we are getting an early start to our winter this year. I’m seeing forecasts of anywhere between 2-6ā€ between 10pm and 8am. We’ll make the call regarding plowing in the morning. If it’s under 2-3ā€, we most likely will not plow this storm. If it’s over 3ā€, we’ll most likely plow. As much as possible, please move as many cars off the street as you can. The more that are off the street, the more the street can be plowed. The newsletter will be coming out between Christmas and New Year’s Day. We hope to keep the annual dues the same again this year, but if we get a lot of snow (as predicted) we will talk through the options during a special meeting in January. Stay safe and enjoy the snow if you get a chance to play!

Continued THANK YOUS to everyone that has paid the annual neighborhood dues so far! This dues pays for the snow removal in the neighborhood, including the increased cost of salting the roads when weather conditions require it. The dues also pays for maintenance and lighting at the entrances. As of April 15, we have about 45% participation. Addresses that have paid already are listed in the private group for this page as described on the newsletter that was delivered to your house a few months ago. When requesting to join the private group that is for residents of Dartmouth Woods only, please answer both membership questions or your request may be denied. If denied, you can re-submit the request and answer the questions.

Transformer fire on Naamans Road just outside the neighborhood. If you need to turn right on to Naamans from Dartmouth Woods, you may want to take Ebright instead. Power in some parts of neighborhood is currently out while they are dealing with this. Thank you to the first responders and line workers that are keeping this fire under control!
