The countdown is on! We are just one week away from our U.S. Military Timeline Event at Moores Creek National Battlefield!

Travel through more than 200 years of American military history as living historians bring the past to life! See uniforms, equipment, and weapons from different time periods and learn how soldiers lived and served throughout our nation's history.

There will be exciting demonstrations, hands-on activities, and plenty of opportunities to talk with reenactors and ask questions. Whether you're a history buff, a curious learner, or just looking for a fun day with family and friends, there's something for everyone!

Don't miss this chance to experience history up close and discover the stories of the brave men and women who helped shape our country.

Get ready for the Military Timeline Event on October 24, 2026! It’s going to be awesome. You’ll see cool stuff from the American Revolution all the way to today’s Marines. We’ll learn about history, see real musket and artillery demos from the 18th and 19th centuries, and check out programs for all ages.

Want to know about the Highland Scots in North Carolina? Dr. Kimberly Sherman will tell their story and their role at the Battle of Moores Creek Bridge. Plus, former Ranger and Volunteer Steve Roberts will read the “Infantry Poem” out loud.

The event starts at 10:00 am and ends at 3:00 pm. Bring your friends and family, don’t miss out!

Happy 251st Birthday to the U.S. Navy

Tomorrow on USS NORTH CAROLINA Battleship in honor of the 251st birthday of the U.S. Navy.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, October 13, the Battleship NORTH CAROLINA will shine in blue and gold in honor of the 251st anniversary of the United States Navy.

As a ship built for service and preserved to share the stories of the nearly 9,000 sailors who served aboard her during World War II, and the 11,000 North Carolinians who made the ultimate sacrifice during the war, the Battleship is proud to join communities across the country in recognizing 251 years of U.S. Navy history.

Watch for the blue-and-gold illumination beginning at sunset.

Friday Oct 23rd on the USS NORTH CAROLINA Battleship.

Enjoy a movie on the fantail of Battleship North Carolina just as her crew did during World War II.

We conclude our 2026 movie series with the 1964 Disney classic, Mary Poppins. Starring Julie Andrews and Dick Van D**e, this beloved film received five Academy Awards, two Grammys, and a Golden Globe. Mary Poppins is widely regarded as Walt Disney’s “crowning achievement.”

The movie will begin at 7:30 p.m. with doors opening at 6:30. Guests are encouraged to bring their favorite lawn chair, food, and libations.

🎂⚓ HAPPY “BERTH-DAY!” The Battleship North Carolina is celebrating 65 years on the Cape Fear River with a full weekend of events Oct. 2-4.

The celebration includes cake, guided tours, live music and red, white and blue illumination of the Battleship each night. 🇺🇸
