Can anyone help???

Good morning, friends,
We don’t usually make requests like this, but we could really use some help from our community.
Our HVAC unit at the Play It Forward Wilmington office is currently having issues, and we’re looking for an HVAC company or technician who may be willing to take a look at it at the lowest possible cost.

As a nonprofit organization funded primarily through donations and fundraising, we also use our office for band rehearsals, music lessons, classes and community gatherings, and the AC issue has been a setback for this. Right now, our budget is very limited, and we’re hoping this turns out to be a simple and affordable repair.

If you know of an HVAC company, technician, or anyone who may be willing to help, please tag them, share this post, or reach out to us directly. Even someone who could come diagnose the issue would be greatly appreciated.

Community is the focus of PCRJ! This year we are excited to announce that in addition to Play It Forward Wilmington, we will be raising funds for Eden Village of Wilmington! They are a great organization right here in our community that is offering real help for the chronically homeless. If you’re not familiar with Eden Village, please check them out!

We are so grateful to have been chosen for one of the Art Council's 2026 Grassroot Grants! 🙏 Thank you also for having us out to the grantee reception, it was an inspiration to be around the creative community of New Hanover and Brunswick Counties and hear about everyone's amazing upcoming projects!

2025 HOLIDAY INSTRUMENT DRIVE

Our mission for the holiday instrument drive is to bring the joy of music to children during the holiday season. Each year, we collect donations of musical instruments and partner with music teachers, schools, and the community to distribute them to families at Christmas. Our mission is to foster creativity, inspire musical talents, and create lasting memories through the gift of music, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to explore their musical potential. Please keep in mind that we are a year round program and donate to anyone that wants to learn to play or maybe you used to play and want to pick it up again..

Please know that we are receiving a lot of messages, so please be patient with us on responding. We ask that all instrument requests are sent in by 12/15 so we can make sure we have everything in stock to provide.

Instrument donation drop off spots are at Ottos Drum Shop, Guitar Pickers, Bass Pluckers, Steele Music Studios or at our office by appointment.
We ask that you contact us or the stores first before dropping off donations. We have very limited space, so we might not be able to accept your donation at this time.

We can also provide a tax exempt form if requested.

Ok everyone, we want to see you at this show this Friday 9/12!! Come out and enjoy some awesome music and help our dear friend Mark Romeo. Show up and show out!!

Wilmington music community! Come on out THIS Friday, September 12, to support a dear friend of Bowstring and avid supporter of the ILM live music scene, Mark Romeo. Mark needs our help as he navigates a difficult and unexpected medical diagnosis. Oc3ans with support from Joe Copple will be playing from 7-10pm!

Entry into the show is free. There will be a QR code for suggested $10 donation @ the door, and Bowstring will be donating 10% of bar sales to support Mark's medical relief fund. Help us support Mark & get him back out to shows soon! 💙

Oc3ans features Brooke Renshaw on vocals, Josh Boyd on guitar, Joey Lamb on drums, and MC Jared Sales. Joe Copple will be performing a solo acoustic support set to kick off the night!
