🌱💙 Partner Spotlight | Greater Self Therapeutic Services 💙🌱

We at EDGE For Tomorrow, believe every child deserves opportunities to grow academically, socially, and emotionally. This summer, our scholars were blessed to experience just that through Group TheraPlay, facilitated by the phenomenal Ms. Brittany Steele of Greater Self Therapeutic Services.

From the moment she entered the room, Ms. Brittany created an environment where our campers felt seen, heard, encouraged, and empowered. Through engaging activities, movement, meaningful conversations, and therapeutic play, she helped our scholars strengthen emotional awareness, build healthy relationships, develop coping strategies, and simply enjoy being children. The smiles, laughter, and excitement each session spoke volumes. Our campers absolutely loved Group TheraPlay!

This partnership is especially meaningful because our relationship with Gregory Snead, LCSW, Owner of Greater Self Therapeutic Services, began in 2022, when he faithfully served as EDGE For Tomorrow’s in-house therapist, providing both individual and group therapeutic services to the children and families we serve. His commitment to supporting the whole child helped establish a strong foundation for the social-emotional wellness that remains central to our mission today. Greater Self Therapeutic Services provides counseling, coaching, and group services designed to support individuals and families in achieving emotional well-being. EDGE For Tomorrow | Summer Enrichment Camp 2026

Today we are shining the light on young leaders in motion. Behind every successful program is a team of servant leaders who show up with heart, dedication, and a willingness to make a difference. This summer, our Youth Volunteers, Alexa, Isaiah, and Alivea, embodied exactly what leadership through service looks like.

From welcoming scholars with warm smiles to assisting with daily activities, supporting staff, encouraging younger campers, and leading by example, these three young leaders consistently demonstrated responsibility, kindness, patience, and initiative. Their positive attitudes were contagious, helping create an environment where every scholar felt seen, supported, and celebrated.

Throughout the 2026 Summer Enrichment Camp, Alexa, Isiah, and Alivea didn’t simply volunteer. They inspired. They encouraged. They served with excellence.

As they completed 80 hours of volunteer service, they gained valuable leadership experience while making a lasting impact on the lives of our scholars and the EDGE For Tomorrow community.

To Alexa, Isiah, and Alivea: Thank you for choosing to lead through service. Your commitment reminds us that leadership isn’t measured by age, but by character, compassion, and a heart willing to help others. SEC Creatives 🌈🎨
Creativity was in full bloom at EDGE For Tomorrow Summer Enrichment Camp! 👕✨

This week during SEC, our scholars transformed ordinary shirts into extraordinary works of wearable art during our “Upcycle Your Style” experience!

A heartfelt thank you to Eboni Morales of JSY Customs for leading this engaging, hands-on activity with creativity, patience, and joy. Scholars learned tie-dye and bleach-dye techniques while discovering that imagination, confidence, and sustainability can all come together in one colorful masterpiece.

We are incredibly grateful to Eboni’s amazing Youth Volunteers, Madison, Penelope, Sage, and GiGi, whose encouragement and enthusiasm made the experience even more special. Their leadership, kindness, and willingness to serve created a welcoming environment where every scholar felt inspired to create something uniquely their own. 💜

From planning their designs to folding, twisting, banding, and bringing their artistic visions to life, our scholars embraced the process with excitement and pride. Every shirt tells a different story, reminding us that there is beauty in individuality and that creativity has no limits.

The EDGE For Tomorrow collective knows that learning happens through meaningful experiences that encourage self-expression, collaboration, critical thinking, and confidence. Today was a wonderful reminder that some of the best lessons are the ones our scholars can proudly wear.

Sweet SECSation 🌈

🏙️🧩✨ Creating Communities, One Puzzle Piece at a Time! ✨🧩🏙️

Our SEC Campers had an incredible time during our “Create Your Town” Chalk Paint Puzzle Mural Experience led by the amazing Eboni Morales of JSY Customs! 🎨💜

Throughout this hands-on activity, our scholars became architects, artists, and community planners. In small groups, they brainstormed what makes a community special and designed towns that reflected their dreams, experiences, and favorite places. 🧩🏘️

🏫 Schools where everyone can learn
🚒 Fire departments and police stations that keep us safe
🌳 Parks and playgrounds where friendships grow
🏪 Small businesses that bring communities together
🏡 Beautiful homes and spaces filled with love and belonging

As they sketched, colored, and collaborated, our campers strengthened so much more than their artistic skills. They practiced:

✨ Teamwork and communication
🧩 Creative thinking and problem-solving
✨ Leadership and decision-making
🧩 Respect for different ideas and perspectives
✨ The importance of community and civic engagement

The magic happened when each individual piece came together to form one beautiful mural, reminding us that every person is a unique puzzle piece and has an important role to play in building strong, vibrant communities. 🧩❤️

Our hearts are still glowing like twinkle lights on Christmas morning. This year’s KIDMAS Party and Holiday Coat Giveaway was pure joy in motion. Scholars walked through the doors wrapped in anticipation and walked out wrapped in warmth, confidence, and community.

There were smiles wide enough to outshine the tree topper, laughter that floated like snowflakes, and memories stitched with love. From crafts and cocoa to gift bags and brand-new coats, every moment reminded us why EDGE For Tomorrow exists: to build brighter futures, one child at a time. 🌈💛
