Local friends please consider eating PT's Grill tomorrow night to support our Eagle Scout friend Gavin who is helping our garden!

Details:

This Tuesday, October 14th, the fundraiser for my Eagle Scout project will be at PT's Grill at 5916 Carolina Beach Road in Wilmington, from 5pm to 9 pm. A percentage of the proceeds from the event will benefit James Avery Memorial Garden and will be used to build compost bins and a Little Free Library.

Delivery or carryout works too, but please mention my project when ordering.

If you can help spread the word about the fundraiser, I would appreciate it. All proceeds go directly to the garden.

Did you know that there are 8 food desert in Wilmington leading to 17% of our population living in areas without access to healthy food?

Did you also know that there are more 700 million people living in poverty worldwide?

Did you also know that more than half of that 700 million is children who were born into poverty?

And back to Wilmington, did you know those 8 food desert I mentioned are mainly in the downtown area?

Which areas of downtown, you ask? North side

Where is Avery garden in relation? North side.

Volunteer day tomorrow at the garden, 8am or whenever you roll out of bed! Come on over, we have lots of weeds for all!! And some cucumbers and figs, and tomatoes, and herbs!

Let the things you can’t control go and come out and be apart of this amazing volunteer community, where we are focused on nurturing our community through healthy food options and the beauty of our garden. By volunteering, you can experience the empowerment of driving meaningful change and witness its impact firsthand. This is something you can directly control and contribute to in a positive way. Because every person should have access to healthy food!
