Every day, Jewish Federation of Delaware supports programs that feed, clothe, shelter, counsel and rescue thousands of people here in Delaware and the Brandywine Valley, in Israel and around the world. What inspires a lifetime of commitment to Jewish community?

For Peter and Suzy Grumbacher, their “why” is rooted in family, history, service, Israel, and a deep belief in the importance of strengthening Jewish life for generations to come.

Peter’s story carries the legacy of his father, a Holocaust survivor who came to America and served in the U.S. Army. Suzy’s journey was shaped by her experiences in Israel and her longstanding commitment to Hadassah.

Together, their story reflects something at the heart of Jewish communal life: remembering where we come from while helping build a strong Jewish future.
