🌀 10 Years After Hurricane Matthew: Remember. Prepare. Respond.

Ten years ago, Hurricane Matthew left a lasting mark on communities across eastern North Carolina. As we remember the families and communities impacted, we’re also reminded of an important lesson: we must always be prepared.

Disasters may pass, but recovery can take years. Catholic Charities is here before, during, and long after the storm, helping our neighbors recover, rebuild, and find hope.

💙 Stay prepared. Look out for your neighbors. And know that when disaster strikes, Catholic Charities will be here.

Preparedness Month is ending. Hurricane season is not.

As we approach the 10-year anniversary of Hurricane Matthew, we’re reminded that storms can change our communities in an instant.

Our most important tip? Have a plan. Know where you’ll go, how you’ll stay connected, and what you’ll need if a storm threatens our area.

Hurricane season continues through November 30, so let’s stay prepared, Cape Fear!
