When disaster strikes, recovery depends on people who are prepared to walk alongside survivors for the long haul.

Last week, that need brought our Regional Director, Emilie Hart, to Pueblo, Colorado. Deploying through the Catholic Charities USA Disaster Cadre, Emilie joined Melissa Hruska, Catholic Charities USA Director of Case Management, to help prepare local disaster case managers for the work ahead as families recover from wildfires that devastated the area. Together, Emilie and Melissa presented the two-day Catholic Charities USA "Essentials for Disaster Case Managers" training.

One of the strengths of the Catholic Charities network is our ability to support one another in times of disaster, sharing experience and expertise to help communities respond, recover, and move forward with dignity.
