On behalf of A Hero’s Legacy – The Tony Rivera Foundation, I was honored to volunteer at Howie’s House in Philadelphia, serving dinner to transplant patients and their families.

Howie’s House, in partnership with the Gift of Life Donor Program, provides affordable accommodations for patients and loved ones while they undergo testing, treatment, or await organ transplantation.

As a donor family volunteer, I brought homemade soup and joined an incredible group of volunteers, including transplant recipients, living donors, individuals awaiting transplants, and family members whose lives have been impacted by organ donation.

Together, we served soup, salad, and sliders while sharing compassion, encouragement, and hope with those staying at the house. It was a meaningful reminder of the power of community and the lasting impact of organ donation.
