The 10th Annual Cape Fear Purple Heart Dinner took place on August 1, 2026, at the UNCW Burney Center.
The banquet honored veterans for their heroic service to our country. The Purple Heart is awarded to veterans who have been wounded or killed during combat while serving in the U.S. military.
The mission of the Cape Fear Purple Heart Association is to provide a forum for the community to honor Purple Heart recipients and their families, to foster an environment of goodwill among combat wounded veterans, to promote patriotism, and encourage the sharing of recipients’ experiences so future generations will know of the sacrifices made by veterans and their families.
