Lower Cape Fear Wildlife-Cape Fear Region is a chapter of the NC Wildlife Federation. We are a group of wildlife enthusiasts bringing knowledge of conservation to the surrounding community. Lower Cape Fear Wildlife is excited to introduce Ernie McLaney as our new president!

Here are a few words from Ernie:

I’m honored to step into the leadership role for the Lower Cape Fear chapter of the North Carolina Wildlife Federation — an award-winning group with a strong foundation, built by dedicated volunteers and meaningful partnerships in support of wildlife and habitat across our coastal region.

I want to thank Jennifer for her years of dedicated service to this board, and I’m grateful for her kindness over the years I’ve known her.  Our friendship will continue and our paths will cross often through shared conservation programs.

As I move into this role, I’m looking forward to building momentum for our chapter — meeting and connecting with our faithful members, strengthening our partnerships, while putting my own passion for wildlife conservation into our mission. Thank you for being part of this community, and I look forward to your involvement in what we’ll accomplish together.

Serving as Board President of the Lower Cape Fear Wildlife Chapter of the NC Wildlife Federation has been such a rewarding experience. It has been an honor to work alongside so many dedicated volunteers, partners, and supporters who share a passion for protecting the incredible natural resources of the Lower Cape Fear River region.

As we usher in a new season of LCWF I am excited to welcome Ernie McLaney as our new Board President. Ernie’s commitment to conservation, thoughtful leadership, and love for this region make him the right person to guide the chapter into its next chapter.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way. While my role is changing, my commitment to conserving the places and wildlife we all cherish remains as strong as ever. I look forward to cheering Ernie and the chapter on as they continue this important work.
